What does Kifāyah mean? Islamically it refers to a communal obligation, one that is required of all Muslims unless a few fulfill it on behalf of the rest. Kifāyah also carries the meanings of sufficiency, contentment, and adequacy. As striving Muslimāt, we find our sufficiency in the modesty Allah & His Messenger have commanded of us.
